 Los Angeles,CA October 17, 2011 — Sheryl Lee Ralph is assembling her favorite singers to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in the  community.  Once again Ralph has put together a star-studded lineup for the 21st annual DIVAS Simply Singing music benefit, which will take place October 22nd at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre inLos Angeles.

Also featured will be the new single featuring Sheryl Lee Ralph and International Recording Artist LaMont Wheat with their single ‘Still Standing’

Slated to perform this year will be will include Kelly Price, Jennifer Lewis, Frenchie Davis, and Niecy Nash.

 There will also be a reunion of Broadway’s original “Dreamgirls” cast, which includes Ralph, Jennifer Holiday and Loretta Devine.

  About LaMont Wheat: With style and a top notch vocal skills, LaMont Wheat is an LA based singer-songwriter.  Known for his catchy melodies and a reedy vocal reminiscent of a cross between Teddy Pendergrass and Luther Vandross with modern swagger, LaMont’s big voice is quickly gaining popularity.  Originally fromTexas, he realized his passion for music early on and founded his high schools’ first inspirational choir “Voices of Youth” and in college LaMont sang gospel music as part of a trio that toured nationally as an opening act for many Gospel greats such as  Shirley Caesar, John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Daryl Coley. LaMont wrote and produced his first CD entitled “Love Goes On” which he released on his LaMont Music label in 2004 followed by the release of “That Girl” in 2006.  LaMont has performed abroad in London, Osio, Berlin, Cologne and Acapulco and has shared the stage with artists such as PM Dawn, Kelly Price, Faith Evans, Joe, Jennifer Hudson, Brian McKnight and Jennifer Lopez to name a few.  In 2009 LaMont was featured on FOX’s “Good Day LA” Christmas morning concert. LaMont recently released his single “I’ve Got It”
